This package updates two Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Common Controls: mscomctl.ocx and comctl32.ocx to address the issues described in the KB articles noted in the Related Resources section on this page. This package will not install these Common Controls if they do not already exist on the target system. This package cannot be uninstalled. The module 'richtx32.ocx' failed to load. Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent.DLL files. The specified module could not be found. However, when I use the same command for other ActiveX controls, it succeeds. I recall reading somewhere that Richtx32.ocx is supposed. Try copying the following 4 files into the Windows 32-bit system directory: C:/windows/System32 If Windows notes that the file already exists, do not copy over the existing file. COMCTL32.ocx MSFLXGRD.ocx RICHTX32.ocx TABCTL32.ocx (2) Just moving them to this system directory should allow windows to find them.

ActiveX controls can have two licences. The end-user licence and the
developer licence.
The end-user licence allows an end-user to use the control in an
application.
The developer licence allows a developer to use the licence in design mode
(e.g.. place it on an Access form).
You don't have the developers licence which is why you are getting the error
message.
You need to instal some software which willgive you the developers licence
such as the ADH (IIRC) or VB6.

Trying to add The Microsoft Rich Text Control to a '97 database & keep
getting the message 'You don't have the license required to use this
control.............to obtain the license , contact the company that
provides the ActiveX control.'
I found the RICHTX32.OCX file in my system 32 folder & attempted to
register open it from there but keep getting the above message. Any
suggestions on how to add this control would be appreciated.
